Responsibilities: To preside at trials of both civil and criminal cases; to supervise the jury commission, grand jury, and other departments of the court.

  • Occupation: Occupation: lawyer & public policy development specialist
  • Resident: Walnut Hills
  • Education: Harvard Law School (J.D., with honors); Hamilton College (A.B., with highest honors)
  • Fred has a proven record of public service as Associate Counsel to the President of the United States
  • Was a senior official in the U.S. Department of Justice, and as chief of staff and legal counsel to a local congressman
  • He also practiced civil litigation with Taft, Stettinius & Hollister.
Priorities:
  • Upholding the rule of law that is vital to this community's survival;
  • Promoting safety and justice through firm, fair, and impartial legal rulings;
  • Interpreting the law honestly and accurately without preference for any special interest.
Bruce B. Whitman 66,892 votes 39.6%
  • Occupation: Attorney
  • Beyond the basic minimal qualifications, I have practiced general trial law in Hamilton County, Ohio since November 1980
  • including experience in criminal and civil law in the Court of Common Pleas.
  • I have tried and settled many cases in front of judges, juries and administrative bodies.
Priorities:
  • To run an efficient Courtroom which is fair to all parties;
  • To protect the public safety in a common sense manner; and
  • To provide an open and robust atmosphere for the resolution of disputes.
