A Day Late and A Dollar Short

By Sylvia Munoz Schnopp

Integrity begins at the top - and the Board of Trustees should set an example!
Integrity is a key issue in this year's election. Not only are the local college trustees being asked about their integrity, this topic spans the globe in elected offices and corporations throughout our region, state and nation.

People want leaders that will lead. They want leaders that won't have their powers usurped nor give them away to ruthless power mongers that deteriorate the ability to provide a check and balance system of fiduciary responsibility.

We have heard and seen for ourselves that our current district board of trustees are a "day late and a dollar short". They have refused to make the best decision for the district, the taxpayer, the student. They have allowed the wasting of taxpayer dollars, the mismanagement of resources and the unfathomable decision of a $30,000 raise given to the chancellor by 4 out of the 5 trustees, including the incumbent from Area 5, even after hearing about reimbursement charges.

The local incumbent college trustee is now saying that he is leading the charge to oust Westin... yet he was one that voted in the $30,000 raise a few months ago, without questions!

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a "trust" issue on our hands. Let's put trust back in the title trustee! Vote Sylvia Munoz Schnopp for College Trustee!
