I believe in judicial restraint. The role of the courts is to interpret and enforce the law, not to make it. In deciding cases judges should put aside their individual preferences and resolve the issue fairly and without bias, according to the law, as best as the judge in good conscience can discern it. All participants in court proceedings are entitled to courtesy and respect and all have the right to a fair hearing before an unbiased judge.
