Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Tom Y. Santos

Candidate for
Member; California State Board of Equalization; District 2

This information is provided by the candidate

I am running for the Board of Equalization because I believe that I can do a good job of representing the ordinary people of this district and all of California. The Board has enormous power to influence and affect a myriad of public tax policies. In that respect, I am passionate about tax fairness and equity for all taxpayers. Individuals and small businesses should not pay a dollar more of taxes ... and big corporations should not pay a dollar less.

We are in the third year of the new millennium --- and it's time to move forward and make positive and practical changes so that we can provide for more economic opportunities and jobs, expanded health care, and better education. As a Californian, I represent the diverse values and share the same hopes and concerns of the average citizen of this great state of ours. I will do my best to support laws that will better the lives of working families and their children.

I thank you for choosing to make me a part of those changes. I thank you for having faith in me to make a difference. I will work hard for you.
