Corporate Welfare and Job Exportation

By Jeffrey L. Rainforth

Candidate for United States Representative; District 6

This information is provided by the candidate
Corporations are receiving billions of taxpayer's dollars in the form of tax breaks, loopholes, low interest loans, and direct loans supposedly to create American jobs. What they are really doing is sending American factories overseas.
Fortune 500 companies are receiving billions of taxpayer dollars in low interest and direct loans from our government. These corporations in turn hand out millions of dollars in campaign contributions to members of both major political parties. These same companies turn around and send hundreds of thousands of American jobs overseas where they can pay workers as little as sixty cents an hour. Taxpayers are literally paying big business to send their factories to China, India, and Mexico at the expense of American jobs. All of this is thanks to the NAFTA and GATT trade accords. The Export-Import Bank is the federal agency in charge of disbursing these loans. If I am elected I will seek to put an end to the subsidization of American job exportation by this agency. If any business should receive this money from the government, it should be small businesses which employ between sixty to seventy-five percent of workers in America. Government money given to business must create jobs, not take them away.
