The Campaign Issues

By G. "Nanjun" Nanjundappa

Candidate for Member; California State Assembly; District 72

This information is provided by the candidate
I am committed to improve education, promote access to affordable health care for all, improve quality of life in our communities, and improve public transporation system in Orange County in order to reduce pollution, congestion, commuting time, and improve safety.
The energy crisis, the problems associated with the September 11th tragedy, and the economic slowdown have made it necessary to cut state spending, but we must continue to work to:

1. Improve our state education system from pre-school to grade 12, and higher education by: · Building adequate classrooms and by modernizing the existing public school infrastructure suitable to provide education for 21st Century. · Advocating the hiring of an adequate number of qualified teachers and reducing class size. · Providing access to quality higher education affordable to all Californians.

2. Promote quality, affordable healthcare for all Californians by: · Ensuring that every man, woman, and child has access to quality and affordable healthcare. · Making sure that Patients' Rights are protected. · Advocating preventative health care. · Guaranteeing that medical decisions come from doctors rather than insurance company executives.

3. Improve the quality of life in our communities by: · Reducing crime and violence by supporting common sense gun laws. · Advocating affordable and quality day care for working parents. · Promoting adequate and affordable housing for any family in need.

4. Improve public transportation by: · Converting the 91 Toll Road to a public freeway, improving safety, reducing traffic congestion, commuting time, and pollution. · Advocating development of regional alternative public transportation systems.

I'm running for the 72nd A.D. seat because I am deeply committed to public service and intend to bring sensible solutions to these issues. I firmly believe that WORKING TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
