Ask not what the government can force others to do for you, ask what you can do for yourself.

The smaller the government is, the more responsible the society will be.
I know it's a self serving twist on the late President Kennedy's inauguration speech, but it was just to good to pass on.

You should have noticed that I replaced the word "country" with government and used the word "force". If we as a society helped each other starting from our family and friends then worked outward from there, we would be acting as a responsible, caring society. This would make us a better people and a better country and it would be by choice rather than force.

I'm confident that if any people can do it, it would be us. Nowhere in the world is there a more charitable people than us. Lets keep it that way by getting the government out of our way. Remember, every responsibility we turn over to government is one less freedom for us to defend.
