EDUCATION

By James E. Hill

Candidate for United States Representative; District 23

This information is provided by the candidate
The Federal Department of Education spends nearly half of the $58 Billion we pay every year on bureaucrat salaries, NOT our kids. We must return to local control of schools.
The Federal Department of Education takes more and more of our tax dollars but the quality of education goes down and down. This huge bureaucracy employs thousands but not a single one teaches kids! They write endless regulations that drive up the cost but reduce the quality of education. They keep nearly half of our money to pay bureaucrat salaries, wrap the rest in red tape and make our schools beg for the leftovers. We can no longer afford these Federal parasites that steal from our kids. We should close down this horrible Department and return to local control of schools. Half the savings should be returned to taxpayers and the rest should go to local schools, voucher programs to provide school choice including cooperative home school programs, and increasing teacher salaries. Quality of education can be improved and the cost lowered by eliminating Federal involvement. We must demand local control of schools!
