The Brass Ring

Speech by Nobody Graham explaining how political control is exercised by The Establishment politicians and bureaucrats, and how to exorcize the political demons to regain control of your own life.

They told us that if we want to succeed we must be good, study hard and get good grades in school. So we could be admitted to a good college, where we must be good, study hard and get good grades in college. So we could be admitted to a great university, where we must be good, study hard and get advanced degrees. So we could get a good jobs, where we must be good, work hard and build a careers, so we can make lots of money to buy nice clothes, fancy cars and fine homes, support our families, travel, and "live the good life".

"You want to live the good life, and have lots of nice things? Go for The Brass Ring!" they said. "If you want success you have to be good and work hard to get there..."

But once we got there we discovered what they really meant: "THE BRASS RINGS ARE IN OUR NOSES!"

They use The Brass Ring to lead you around and force you to conform. They use all those things you've worked so hard to earn as a way to control you. If you don't follow all the Establishment Rules, they'll take those nice cars, seize those fine homes and bank accounts, ruin your careers and even rip your families from you.

The Brass Ring is shiny and bright. It looks good on you. People with less may envy you, but once you understand it, you know that the real purpose for The Brass Ring is to dominate you, rule you, and enforce all the Establishment Rules on you.

THE BRASS RING IS IN YOUR NOSE!

The Establishment politicians and bureaucrats now have you under their power. They use you, abuse you, accuse you, force you to file all sorts of forms, and terrorize you into paying taxes. They interfere in your business and family life, and take your precious freedom away from you.

If you object, they can pull you back into line by jerking on The Brass Ring a little. They can slap a lien on your bank account, seize your car, close your business, foreclose on your home, and threaten to take your children away from you. If you resist they do all those nasty things to you. Don't think they won't. It has happened to millions of ordinary people. Every day, government agents seize people's bank accounts, homes, cars, business and children all over America. Those who resist are often imprisoned and sometimes killed.

Libertarians oppose the use of coercive force. We use only peaceful methods to achieve personal, political and social goals.

Libertarians want you to be free to enjoy life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness and all those things you've worked so hard to earn. We want to take The Brass Rings out of your noses and put them back into your hands where they belong. We want you to use your stuff to achieve your personal goals, rather than having it used to force you into the Establishment's political mold.

Rather than wanting to control you with The Brass Rings, Libertarians want to give you control of your own lives and futures. We want you to be free to use everything you earn. We want you to be productive, healthy, wealthy, happy and free.

Libertarians know that you can run your own life much better than any government bureaucracy or political system can run it for you. We want you to have that opportunity.

Take the Brass Ring out of Your Nose!
