I'm State Assemblymember Judy Chu, and I respectfully ask for your vote to re-elect me on Tuesday, November 5, 2002.

As your representative, I am committed to improving education, improving the economy, protecting children, and improving transportation in the San Gabriel Valley.

For twelve years I served as a Councilmember and Mayor of Monterey Park. I was elected to the Garvey School Board, and served as a college professor at East Los Angeles College for 13 years. Now, I'm your representative to the California State Assembly.

As your Assemblymember, I'm fighting to improve schools by reducing classroom overcrowding and providing students with up-to-date textbooks and computers. One of my first accomplishments was to successfully obtain $250,000 to repair the aging Mark Keppel High School.

I am committed to improving transportation in our community. As a member of the Transportation Committee, I am strongly advocating for the completion of the 710 Freeway and the reduction of congestion at rail crossings.

As a member of the Budget Health Committee, I fought for the expansion of healthcare for California's families.

I'm proud to be from a working-class family, the daughter of a WWII veteran, and a staunch advocate for the rights of workers and consumers. My strong votes for senior legislation has garnered me a 100% rating by the Congress of California Seniors.

Congresswoman Hilda Solis, Sheriff Lee Baca, the California Professional Firefighters and the California Teachers Association support me for re-election. I would be honored to have your support too.

Thank you for your consideration.

Judy Chu
