FORESTVILLE SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATE

I have been involved with the Forestville School District for the past six years, volunteering in my daughter's classroom and for other special school events. I am a chair member of the Parent Action Group (P.A.G.) developed as an avenue for educators and parents alike to pressure the California Legislature to put funding back into the schools. I have observed the dedication of teachers, administrators and staff who are constantly challenged to perform their jobs with ever decreasing funding. I firmly believe a good public education offers all children, regardless of financial means, the opportunity to obtain skills allowing them to become responsible, educated adults.

Current state legislation challenges the very right to an adequate public school education. If elected, I will work closely with Forestville School administrators and other board members to obtain and secure any funding available for the school, and to find means of bringing Forestville School teachers' salaries to a level commensurate with other districts in Sonoma County. We want to retain the exemplory educators that are teaching our children. As owner of a vocational counseling business in Sonoma County, I have strong management and personnel skills that will help to accomplish the goals I have set forth.
