This information is provided by the candidate

I was appointed to the Cotati City Council in October of 2000. At the time, I was Chair of the Cotati Planning Commission, having served on the commission for three years. I began my involvement in Cotati city government nearly ten years ago as a member of the Cotati Urban Growth Boundary Citizens Group, which was formed to develop the Urban Growth Boundary now part of our General Plan. In addition to my position on the Council, I also serve as alternate on the Sonoma County Transportation Authority, and was elected by Sonoma County mayors and councilmembers to the Executive Board of the Northbay Region League of California Cities.

In addition to my involvement in City government, I have a long history of community service on both a local and countywide basis. I was an elected member of the Thomas Page PTA Executive Board for five consecutive years, serving two years as President. I have been a 4-H project leader for six years, having co-founded Cotati 4-H, and serving, as it's club leader for four years. I also served two terms on the Sonoma County 4-H Executive Board. I have accumulated countless volunteer hours for numerous city events from the Accordion Festival, to Kid's Day and Earth Days, to the Philharmonic, Education Foundation of Cotati & Rohnert Park, classroom volunteer and more. I was recognized for community service in 1998 as a Cotati Citizen of the Year nominee.
