City Council; City of East Palo Alto

"The Webb" I am a 59 year young senior. I moved to East Palo Alto in 1963. I graduated from Golden Gate University with a Masters Degree in Public Administration.

I entered the Menlo Park Police force in 1971. Wrote a juvenile program and became the city's juvenile officer. I received an award from President Ford in 1974. I retired as a police agent. Later I started a construction business, remodeling and building houses.

I organized tutorial and work-study programs for youth and young adults emphasizing education and job skill readiness. I authored and negotiated one program with HUD that saved the government $90,000.00 in housing repairs. I implemented a Ride-Along Program to bridge the gap between minority youth and the police. I developed and instructed high school class at Menlo Atherton. I am a former chairman of the East Palo Alto Public Safety Board; served as part of Romic Chemical Watchdog group and a former member of Kiwanis International,

Goals: Reduce cost by 10% Encourage self-sufficiency in departments Develop youth programs pertaining to education and job development Decrease commute traffic through neighborhoods Develop a fair equitable plan for public transportation and commute parking. Work to reduce lawsuits against the city.

I am working to be your council representative. But, I can't do it alone. Today I ask you for your help, your assistance and your participation. Together we can make our voices ring with the sound of a new song.

I urge any person here who want changes to sign up, join our team we need a new East Palo Alto a more citizens involved city. To the young, to the old, to the disfranchised to the homeless to the hungry let your voices be heard bring your concerns to me and I will speak for you. We need citizens that are not afraid to say what they want and are willing to speak out for it.
