ROBERT SHERRARD Age: 41

Education and Qualifications:

I am pleased to introduce myself to you as a candidate for city council. As a relative newcomer to East Palo Alto, I bring no "political agenda" linked to the past. Rather, my vision is forward thinking, to contibute my unique skills and talents to make EPA an even better place to live, work and go to school.

With 20 year's experience in banking, I will bring a much-needed business perspective to a council which has not always made the best financial decisions. Our community deserves such a voice.

Given EPA's tremendous possibilities for further economic development, I will bring representation that believes in "smart growth", maximizing our economic potential while balancing our unique history and diversity.

My expertise and passion for many years has been the issue of affordable housing, a fundamental need in this city. I am presently a board member of the Housing Trust of Santa Clara County (http://www.housingtrustscc.org), a collaboration between the public and private sector and faith-based communities that is now delivering over 5,000 affordable homes to Silicon Valley's families. I am eager to share my affordable housing experience with our community.

Thanks for your vote...a vote for a fresh voice and a new perspective!
