MICHAEL P. GUINGONA

Occupation: Mayor/Attorney

Education and Qualifications:

As your three-time elected Councilmember and three-term Mayor, I helped guide Daly City through a period of unprecedented growth, dynamic revitalization and opportunity. Despite a national economic downturn, beneficial new programs like Hire Daly City first provided local jobs and Daly City's financial base remained strong while we forged ahead strengthening and improving our community.

Fifteen tot-lots and neighborhood parks were renovated. Additional library, recreational and community facilities in the Bayshore area and at the new War Memorial Center will soon serve our residents. We upgraded our infrastructure - from sewer and water to essential and safety services and celebrated major progress in the completion of Pacific Plaza.

In addition to three terms as Mayor and Vice-Mayor, I have represented Daly City to various governmental organizations and currently serve as Chair of the San Mateo County Transportation Authority and Vice-Chair of the San Mateo County Transit District Board of Directors.

My wife, Teresa, 3-year-old son Kai and I are Daly City homeowners. I am a lifelong resident of Daly City and graduate of Westmoor High, Skyline College, UCLA and University of San Francisco. I earn my living as a practicing attorney but the job I love most is serving Daly City...every day.

With your vote, I will put my experience as councilman and mayor to work once again and continue this incredible period of progress.

/s/ Michael P. Guingona
