Smart Voter Official Statement for Raquel "Rae" Gonzalez

Candidate for
City Treasurer; Town of Colma

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

RAQUEL "RAE" GONZALEZ Age: 43

Occupation: Appointed Incumbent Treasurer/Homemaker

Education and Qualifications:

I have been a 35 year resident of this quaint little town and now enjoy raising my family here. I have always had a desire to be active in the Town and was fortunate to turn that desire into reality. From 1989 # 1997 I was a full time employee of the Town of Colma. As Public Information Officer I gained Municipal Government experience in the City Clerk/City Manager's office and had the opportunity to learn all aspects of City Administration # including assisting the City Treasurer. In 1997 I decided to put my career on hold and pursue my lifelong goal of obtaining a degree in Visual Communication.

Over the years my interest in the Town has never diminished. In January of this year I applied for the position of City Treasurer and was appointed on February 6, 2002. During my five months in office I was instrumental in transferring a considerable sum of funds from a low interest bearing bank account to a higher earning secured government investment fund. If elected I will comply with all laws governing the deposit and securing of public funds, and continue to provide the dedication and time needed for this position.

Please support me.

/s/ Raquel P. Gonzalez
