Mayor; City of Manteca

Mayor Carlon Perry has been deeply involved in local government, serving on various boards and commissions for most of his adult life.
He has been a Manteca Planning Commissioner, Coordinator of the Manteca Community Electricity Management program, Manteca Recreation Commissioner and President of the Lathrop County Water Board.
Mayor Perry won a seat on the Manteca City Council in 1992, and was elected as Mayor in 1998, receiving the largest number of votes cast in the history of the City Mayoral Elections.
He was instrumental in establishing an alliance of South County Mayors, (Manteca, Lathrop, Ripon, Escalon and Tracy) to address common issues.
A graduate of the Manteca Union High School, Mayor Perry served as a U.S. Army Military Policeman, stationed in Korea.
After completing his military service, he played professional baseball for both the Dodgers and Mets organizations, which has resulted in his continued commitment to youth sports.
Mayor Perry believes that the City Council's primary focus should include: Better management of the exploding residential growth, job opportunites without the tax giveaway attitude of the current Council majority, an effective program to reduce residential traffic speeding that protects our children's safety, and the need for regional planning to ease the traffic congestion nightmare faced by Manteca's commuters.
"I believe these goals can be accomplished without an increase in fees or taxes. My voting record during the past ten years on the Manteca City Council clearly indicates my commitment against unjustified taxes and fees."
Mayor Perry has voted to increase on the street Police Officers, sought to improve head-of-household jobs so that citizens can spend less commute time, worked to save Mantecans 6 million dollars through the Waste Water Treatment Plant Study, opposed the RDA giveaway of Taxpayer money, proposed and voted to place Big League Dreams Project on the ballot, proposed and voted for the Tidewater Bikeway pedestrian crossing signals, Proposed and voted for funding for the Skate Park and has continually fought to keep City spending and taxes in check.
Mayor Perry and his wife Kathy have been married 31 years and they have three adult children; Carlon Casey II,Geoffrey, daughter Jamie Kesler and son-in-law Anthony Kesler.
