Leslie Baranco Martin was born in San Francisco, CA

Leslie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of California at Berkley in 1984. As an engineer, Leslie spent six years wih Hewlett # Packard leading projects in the departments of manufacturing, research and design, and marketing.

She then went on to earn a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California's prestigious Hastings College of the Law.

Upon graduation, Leslie and her family moved to Stockton where she has been employed as a Deputy District Attorney for San Joaquin County for the past six years. While serving in the DA's office she has specialized in blight abatement serving as the County's code enforcement prosecutor.

In 2001, Leslie was appointed to the Stockton City Council where she has provided leadership in efforts to clean up some of Stockton's dilapidated hotels. In addition, she has also earned the respect of her peers for her strong support of local law enforcement.

During her spare time, Leslie is actively involved with local schools where she teaches children about the legal system and serves as a mentor for children.

Leslie and her husband, Douglas, were married in 1986. They have two children: Gabrielle, 11; and Matthew, 13.
