I have deep roots in Lodi. My Grandfather John Lauchland moved to Lodi in 1918 and my Great-Great-Great-Grandfather Henry Beckman moved to Lodi in 1850. Since that time the Beckman and Lauchland families have been in integral part of Lodi.

I was born in 1969 at Lodi Community Hospital. Throughout my education I went to local schools culminating in a Juris Doctorate degree at Humphrey's School of Law in Stockton and passing the California Bar Exam in 1997.

I worked my way through college as a salesman and retail manager at Macy's, Toys R' Us and Sears. After passing the bar exam I worked as an attorney in Lodi with my father Ron Beckman from 1997 to 1999. Also in 1997 I started teaching legal classes at Humphrey's College and School of Law, were I continue to teach today.

In 1999 I left the practice of law to work at the making of law with Assemblyman Anthony Pescetti. Today I am Assemblyman Anthony Pescetti's Senior Field Representative and Lodi District Office Manager.

In addition to my employment I have extensive involvement in the community in the following roles:
Vice-Chair of the City of Lodi Planning Commission;
Member of the City of Lodi Site Plan and Architectural Review Committee;
Chairman of the Legal/Insurance Committee for the Lodi Boys and Girls Club;
Fundraising Chairman for the San Joaquin County Republican Central Committee;
Chairman of the forty-niner district for the Boy Scouts of America;
Member of Heartland Community Church;
Member of the Lodi Rotary Club;
Member of the Lodi Kiwanis Club;
Member of the Woodbridge Masonic Lodge;
Member of Christian Community Concerns;
Member of the Auburn Dam Council;
Member of the California Republican Assembly;

Member of the Lodi Chamber of Commerce Government Relations, School Relations and Agribusiness Committees;
Associate member of the Lodi Republican Women's Club; and
President of the Friends of Tokay Foundation 2000-2002.
