Candidate for
Board Member; Fallbrook Union Elementary School District

This information is provided by the candidate

I have been a Board Member since 1996, serving terms as Board President, Vice-President and Clerk. I have been our District's NCCSE (Special Education) representative for 6 years. I have completed CSBA's 2 year Masters of Governance program for board trustees.

During my tenure on the board, we have reduced class sizes in kindergarten through 3rd grade, built and opened Frazier Elementary, had the successful implementation of the English Immersion Progam, built new Jr. High Science Labs, started afterschool mentoring and tutoring programs and had 5 consecutive years of increased test scores. We have also maintained good working relationships with both of our district's employee unions.

For the past 15 years, I have volunteered in classroom, been a room parent and served in numerous positions on PTA boards, including president at the elementary, junior high and high school levels. I have been elected to SITE Councils at both the elementary and junior high, holding the positions of chairman and vice-chairman. I have served on district wide committees including the Budget committee, Mentor Teacher committee and Class Size Reduction committee. I have also served as President and Vice-President of the Potter East Coast Trip.

I am the mother of 3 daughters, all who attended the Elementary School District. I was born and raised in North San Diego County. I have lived in Fallbrook for 23 years and operate my business here. I have volunteered my time for different organizations, including being a Girl Scout leader for 12 years.
