I Believe in Maintaining High Academic Standards!

By Steve Bradford

Candidate for Board Member; Vista Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
Our students deserve a school board that will hold them to high academic standards.
Certain board members in the Vista Unified School District have given thought to lowering the graduation standards for students from the current 2.0 average to a 1.5 average. I believe this sends a very poor message to our students and to our community.

We owe it to the students to educate them properly, providing them with the opportunity to excel. We also owe it to our community to graduate students with acceptable standards.

I believe the students will rise to the level of expectation that is placed before them. We must teach our students to succeed, not lower standards because we expect them to fail!
