Mardi Wormhoudt has served the Santa Cruz community for over twenty years and was first elected to the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors in 1994.

From 1981 to 1990, she sat on the Santa Cruz City Council and was elected Mayor three times, serving as Mayor during the very difficult period after the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.

She is the mother of four grown children.
