Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Thomas MacDevitt

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Santa Clara; Seat 5

This information is provided by the candidate

I believe in treating people how you want them to treat you. Too often I've encountered people who deal with the public and have forgotten how to be civil. There is no need for condescending behavior when dealing with the public. I will not forget this basic tenant of humanity.

Oh wait this is about my POLITICAL philosophy! I find myself a centerist, and I embrace and discount ideas from both main political parties. I believe that the bill of rights is one of the most important documents in our history. I hold dear how amazing this country is. One can accomplish anything here given enough time and energy. The quote "give me a long enough lever and I will move the earth" is an appropiate metaphor for our country. Here in Santa Clara many of us have our virtual levers and are ready to make something move.
