To achieve this top priority, kids should be able to Master Grade Level Standards. Creation of excellent school programs, staff development does add up in providing solid foundation.
- Hiring and Retaining 1st Rate Teachers 1st Rate Priority
This is a must for quality education. I will support competitive salary, sign on bonus,referal money, assist in commute and also staff professional development. Beautiful school, creation of an environmnet which encourage the open dialog, trust building where management does listen to the people also add up
- Safe and Modern 21st Century School
Kids must feel safe on the campus. Good emergency plan, follow city wide code, monthly drills, drug free, gang free environment does add up. I support school beautification, modernization, well equipped schools with the improved traffic.
School is a preparation for life not just for work. The academic program should be complemented by a broad spectrum of other activities like sports ,music ,art etc. I expect children to develop interests way beyond th e classroom. Also I support after school program to equip kids for life beyond work.
- Get More Money, Spend Wisely !
Local Businesses and other think that we are in Silicon Valley so our schools are well equipped and financially sound but we know the reality. I will work with City, local businesses and community to explore alternate ways of funding. Also fiscal accountability is very critical.
- Promoting Good Citizenship
Education without character is incomplete. Nurturing character, creating and maintaining environment where students respect themselves, parents, family and others is a life time investment.
