As an Accountant, James Will ensure that limited funds are channeled into the most essential and promising programs.
James De La Cruz, a graduate of Gavilan College has 10 years of experience working and volunteering for community colleges, universities and local governments. He has served on Gavilan College Associated Student Body council as Vice-president of Finance and as Chief Fiscal Officer of a non-profit auxiliary at San Jose State University. He has volunteered to serve as Chair of Calaveras School Site Council and President of Child Development Center at Southside School.

As a member of the San Benito County Water Board of Directors, James has participated in the development of the Groundwater Management Plan in providing safe and reliable water supply. As Chair of the City of Hollister Planning Commission and a member of the Parks/Recreation Commission, James gained experience in growth planning, land use allocation and parks and recreation management.

If elected, James De La Cruz will support expanding and renovating facilities at the Morgan Hill and Gavilan College campuses to accommodate the rapidly growing student population. He will support and lobby for a new campus in Hollister. He will ensure employees are paid competitive salaries while maintaining a fiscally conservative and balanced budget. James will raise academic standards to enable our students to compete for well-paying jobs.
