George serves the public every day. George believes he is the only candidate in this race who is a prosecutor or worked in a prosecutor's office, the only candidate who is in law enforcement, the only candidate who represents victims of violent crimes in criminal prosecutions, the only candidate who has ever prosecuted a sexual assault, and, in fact, the only candidate who has ever prosecuted any violent offenders. George is the only candidate in this race who serves the public every day by fighting to keep our communities safe. For the last six years especially, before entering this race, George was trial prosecutor against some of the most vicious offenders in our community. George has been praised for distinguishing true predators from those that can be rehabilitated -- every single case for those six years involved either a felony sexual assault or a career criminal facing a life sentence. Please be informed about what George, or any candidate, WILL do, by what George, or any candidate, HAS BEEN DOING. George has helped protect the public for the last eleven and a half years. All of this is in addition to many other very strong qualifications, reflected, for example, by endorsements from many diverse groups and individuals.

Additionally, before becoming a prosecutor, George handled large and complex civil litigation cases, including the preparation and arguing of dispositive substantive motions in state and federal courts; George was the only trial attorney on two plaintiff cases for trial, one pro bono, the other not, both settled on day of trial, unusual responsibility for a young associate in two of California's largest and most prestigious law firms; served as associate on plaintiff patent litigation, plaintiff trade secret theft (went to trial with $1.5 million verdict after George went to D.A.'s office), plaintiff real estate partnership fraud, defense franchisee law, defense legal malpractice; handled entire disposition of six-figure lawsuit representing media entity against abuse of process lawsuit by researching all 200 or so related cases in California and originating theory of law of first impression, causing arbitrator of case to change advice to his own client, and plaintiff to drop the lawsuit entirely a few days after George presented his brief (George is obviously proud of this one); most important, specialized in high-tech business law / prelitigation counseling / litigation for high-tech companies; all of the above with partner supervision, of course. Conducted and taught training of newer associates.

For more "philosophy" (for a judicial candidate, this essentially means life experience, as it is a nonpartisan position), see George's Biography section of Smartvoter web site.

Possibly uniquely in this race, George is not accepting monetary contributions for the March 5 or November 5 election. But we do welcome contributions of time, effort, and hosting a gathering with coffee and donuts and the like. Find out why this principle, possibly held only by George of all the candidates in this judicial election, matters in a judicial election. Find out why a glossy advertisement will not help you become informed in a judicial election.

George has hired no campaign consultant, accepts no monetary contributions for the March 5 or November 5 election, and intends to conduct his campaign consistent with the seeking of judicial office and the kind of judge George intends to be if elected.
