Statement from Voters Guide
I see a great potential in our district, staff and particularly our students. I seek to expand upon the sound foundation laid down over the years, through a process of continuous improvement.

I will focus on assuring that the curriculum meets the needs of our students as they prepare to enter higher education, the work force and "real life". I see a need to teach children to work in teams, to cooperate, prioritize, and meet deadlines, all skills they will need in life. I feel a need to stress basic math, reading and communication skills for all our students While I am proud of our improvement in standardized test scores and welcome accountability, I often question their relevancy in real life situations.

As an Information Technology Manager, in a closely regulated industry, I am used to working within Federal guidelines, with tight budgets and even tighter deadlines. As a parent of two teens, I am aware of the issues facing our children, community, and our District. I have served on school-site as well as District-wide budget and technology committees, in addition to three years (two as president) on School Site Councils. I ask for your support. I ask for your vote.
