I believe that the public school system is an excellent way to educate all children. I feel that if the members of the school district(administrators, teachers, staff, students, parents and community) work together, students will achieve in all areas. These areas include state and national testing and a love of learning that will stay with a person throughout his or her life. This includes music, art, sports and various club activities as well as academic areas. Respect for everyone is essential since everyone plays a part in a student's education. Instead of placing blame, I like to use teamwork to improve any problems. Since I have 37 years of experience in the educational system, I feel that I can bring about this respect and collaboration. Even though I retired from LUSD, I am very involved and concerned about matters in the district. I still maintain many of my contacts and will use these to employ my philosophy.
