A Quality Education for Every Child... Every child in our community has the right to a quality education. Less than 30% of the District's graduating seniors go on to a four-year college; we have a responsibility to do better for our children or staff.

Fiscal Responsibility... I understand budgets, and I will stress accountability from the District. I have on managed very complex budgets over the years. I understand that at times tough decisions need to be made, but not at the expense of our children. I will be a good steward of our tax dollars.

Funding for the Arts & Sports... Budgets for the arts and athletics are typically the first programs cut or eliminated when a school district is facing a shortfall. I intend to call upon my numerous business contacts to see how the School District can benefit from partnering with the private sector. The arts help develop a creative mind, while athletics build leadership skills and teamwork, and these programs are much needed by our students.

Housing... Many people cannot afford to live in Santa Barbara, including our teachers and classified personnel. I believe that the District can work with the City, the County and builders to address the housing issue. It is crucial that our children's educators live in the communities in which they teach.

Accessibility... While I represent the students, parents, teachers and taxpayers of the District I will be available to everyone.
