As a Board Member for five years, I can see clearly we must continue to address the dropout rate starting in elementary school and we must not wait until the failing student reaches high school when it may be close to impossible to direct him or her towards a successful path in life.

Extracurricular activities such as FFA, Band, Drama,
Choir groups and sports of all kinds are a great help in building good, successful, graduating students. The Jurupa Community should help kids, financially if necessary, to take on "after hours" and "weekend projects" to expand children's interest in the arts and sports.

Thanks to Supervisor John Tavaglione, recent new
development is beginning to beautify our community which has become blighted over the years. We have now completed a new Sheriff's Station on Mission Boulevard in Glen Avon which is a real point of pride in our Jurupa Community. Construction is completed on a large theater complex on Limonite and Clay in the Indian Hills area. We have completed a huge 35-acre sports center in Mira Loma next to Jurupa Valley High School on Bellegrave Avenue. Work continues on a project to beautify Mission Boulevard in Rubidoux and plantings in the center of Van Buran Blvd. To top off the beautifying of our area, we have built a new Education Center for this community on the corner of Jurupa Road and Pedley Road. We are now building our third High School and are in the design stages of a Middle School and two Elementary Schools All of these projects help develop better kids and pride in our Jurupa Community.
