CANDIDATE STATEMENT For JOHN W. MCFADDEN

A continuous supply of pure clean water at a reasonable price is vital to current and future residents of the Coachella Valley.

To date, District Directors and Staff have positioned the agency to serve our urban and farm economies adequate water quantities for the next 30 years.

A Water Management Plan has been implemented which contains a major water conservation element, ground water replenishment plan to mitigate both the upper and lower aquifer over-draft problems, and master plans for infrastructure additions to achieve domestic and farmland water distribution best-use practices.

An operation consisting of 423 employees and a combined capital improvement and operations budget of $207,000,000, providing water and sewer reclamation service to over 76,000 homes and businesses, requires knowledge and experience to carry out our mission.

I have a background of over 38 years of public utility affiliation, 12 years as your Director, and two years as President of the Water District Board. I believe I have provided the management skills necessary to assure continuation of one of the best operating water districts in the State of California.

Your vote for my reelection will be appreciated.
