Hello Community Stakeholder:

I am a retired Program Manager with thirty-three years of public service experience working with youth as: 1) Instructional Counselor for the Deaf, 2) Youth Counselor, and 3) Substance Abuse Treatment Team Manager.

I graduated from the University of La Verne with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration, with a minor in Criminal Justice.

My wife, Blanche, and I have resided in the Jurupa area for 37 years. Our five children attended Jurupa public schools.

I currently serve as a governing member of the Board of Trustees for Area Five. As a governing member of the Board some of our accomplishments were:

  • Established Community-Based English Tutoring Program
  • Established an Extended Learning Opportunity Program
  • Established a Five-Year Facilities Master Plan
  • Expanded Class Size Reduction Program
  • Adopted Technology Plans to Wire All District Schools
  • Approved Construction for Granite Hill,Stone Avenue and Peralta Elementary Schools, and Mira Loma Middle School
  • Adopted School Safety and Violence Prevention Programs
  • Dedication of New J.U.S.D. Education Center
  • Approved Agreement to Construct Stadium at Jurupa Valley High School.
  • Authorized Purchase of thirty-five CNG Buses for J.U.S.D.

Through the continued commitment of the community and dedicated parents, teachers, support staff and administrators, we can accomplish our goal of ensuring a quality education for all of our students, by providing each an opportunity to reach their fill potential.

I will continue to seek a consensus through Board deliberation on various issues by utilizing demonstrated commitment, integrity, leadership, and experience. Our schools face many challenges as it relates to the myriad of complex educational issues that our students and staff will encounter.

I am grateful to have served on the governing Board of Trustees for the past ten years. I am asking for your vote and support as we provide youth in the Jurupa Unified School District with accountable educational programs, for each student's development toward becoming productive citizens in our community.
