Thank you for electing me to the Desert Healthcare District Board of Directors four years ago.

Since then, I believe that the District Board has been successful in appropriately supervising the lease of Desert Regional Medical Center (DRMC) to Tenet and in distributing over $5 million to improve the health of District residents.

After earning a BA at UC Riverside and an MD from UCLA, I completed an MBA in healthcare at UC Irvine.

For the last 25 years, it has been my privilege to be an emergency physician at DRMC. Additionally, I currently serve as Medical Advisor for the Palm Springs Fire Department and as Medical Director of the Cathedral City Fire Department.

As do the other District Directors, I firmly believe that every resident in our District deserves:

--Access to at least basic healthcare services;

--The opportunity to access health education, disease prevention, and comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services;

--Appropriate community healthcare assets, including world-class hospitals and related facilities; and

--The opportunity to participate in District matters through access and input to the Board.

By combining medical experience with business knowledge, I hope to continue serving you in the years to come.
