Born and raised in Cleveland, ohio. West high school graduate, worked for airlines and stock brokers in NYC for two years. Enrolled in Fenn college, cleveland, ohio in the Business school with career plans to become a stock broker. In the fifties a woman's career choice was very limited the end result was a business teacher . Moved to Arizona for health reason. married, Bill Freeman , an air traffic controller. A government transfer to Thermal Ca, Air traffic facilities. After two sons entered school , i returned to teaching in Coachella Valley school district, teaching, migrant , adult ed, and high school business. In 1990 I was elected to CVUSD BOARD ,reelected 1994, 1998. My two sons are COACHELLA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES, LOYOLA MARYMOUNT AND OCCIDENTAL COLLEGE GRADUATES RESPECTIVELY finding Federal employment as air traffic controller, and Federal agent with US CUSTOMS. MY FAMILY consists of two grandchildren and I have enjoyed widowhool since l996. Bill Freeman,. my late husband was a crusader for HWY 86, four lane expressway which was known as the KILLER HWY. Riverside county. He has section named in his honor . After his death I assumed leadership to complete the 25 yr struggle, until the dedication in MAY 2001.
