GOVERNMENT IS TOO BIG!

Government continues expand every day (it never gets smaller). Government is encouraging citizens to exchange their personal responsibilities for fewer liberties. Many don't care. Some view this as acceptable. I do not. I love my city. I fear the growth of my government. I intend to reverse this expansion. The 21st century is here. Change is coming to Huntington Beach.

I intend to reduce city government to a manageable level.

GOVERNMENT IS TOO BIG!

A properly run city government is one which is nearly invisible to it's citizens. The city must focus on using its limited tax revenues to build and maintain public safety & infrastructure, nothing more. Government will then be able to do a few things very well instead of many things poorly.

GOVERNMENT IS TOO BIG!

Our children cannot catch grunion on the beach at night or fish on the pier at night or light sparklers on the Fourth of July as I was once was able. In my lifetime I have witnessed the city greatly diminish my children's freedom and liberties. Government is sworn to protect our liberties but routinely and needlessly restrict our liberties without hesitation. This is done for our own good.

GOVERNMENT IS TOO BIG!

If elected, I intend to go to city hall with a large eraser and eliminate the wasteful practices incrementally put into place over many years. Reducing government reduces the taxes it requires. A limited government is a cost effective government.

GOVERNMENT IS TOO BIG!

=====

We have MAJOR infrastructure problems. The city is consistently performing projects wrong the first time and then having to do them over a second time to correct all the errors. We can never afford our infrastructure repairs if we have to build everything twice!

It would have been to cheaper to demolish the Peck reservoir and start over (as recommended) than the method the city chose.

The city spent over $200,000 on water well #11 and then abandoned it without ever pumping even one drop of water! The city then claimed we were short of water wells and spent millions of dollars to construct two new wells.

The city incorrectly built a 40 foot truck wash, knocked it down, and built it again. Guess who paid for it?

The city must not be permitted to waste the peoples money any longer.
