Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Steve Vargas

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Brea

This information is provided by the candidate

CANDIDATES STATEMENT # Steve Vargas

When Breans elected me in 1998, I pledged to respect your views, stop backroom deals, stop shifting of public funds and protect ridgelines and open space. I voted for the ridgeline ordinance, sensible yet sensitive growth and have kept redevelopment abuse at bay. I protected your interest and questioned controversial expenditures. I have kept my word.

Citizens deserve fairness, respect and action # people know when something needs doing # Vargas will listen! I am direct, consistent and passionate about the issues. I am your advocate!

When the council walked away from Veterans, I stood up. I fought for our kids for Grad Night funding. When they refused to send our firefighters to NY, I took them myself. My work is not done.

· Sports Park # overdue and under-funded · Open Governance # Enough mistruth, misinformation and mistakes · Puente Center # We need a market now! · Traffic # 2400 trucks per day travel to Brea's landfill. They want to extend the dump to 2021. We need to close on schedule and reduce traffic. · Public Safety # Always a priority

I need your vote November 5th to continue our progress of responsive government. Thank you for your vote.

Respectfully, Councilman Steve Vargas
