Tom believes an elected official's office is what the holder makes of it. As your City Clerk, Tom promises integrity, honesty and accountability. He will bring his vitality, ingenuity, and common sense to the Clerk's position.

The City Clerk's job is a natural extension of his work duties. Tom's publishing background and computer expertise afford him a practical knowledge of archiving procedures, data retention and data retrieval methods. As an editor, he understands the need for accurate reporting of minutes and the reliable preservation of documents.

Tom guarantees

  • accurate transcription of minutes
  • to facilitate public access to city records
  • reliable archiving of city documents.
Tom believes the City Clerk should be accountable to the electorate. He does not support ballot measure Y which changes this position and the City Treasurer's position from elected offices to appointed positions.
