Candidate's Pledge

By Richard F. "Rick" Taylor

Candidate for Council Member; City of Newport Beach; District 4

This information is provided by the candidate
Those of us fortunate enought to live and work in Newport Beach realize and appreciate it's charm and uniqueness. This community, which is so endearing to us, is under asault by those who promote massive developement. We deserve a spokesman for the real citizens of Newport beach, one not beholden to developers and their special interests. No councilperson should ever derive economic benefit by and through their occupation, as a result of their council status. To serve on the City Council is an honor and a civic opportunity to give back to the community...not to make a money.

We need to stop the metropolizing of Newport Beach

We need to stop selling out our quality of life to
unwanted developement

We need to strengthen the weakened Traffic Phasing
Ordinance and enhance our water quality

We need a longtime proven fighter to stop the ever
increasing threat of John Wayne Airport expansion

I will bring civility, passion and a voice to the Council. It will be my honor and privilege to serve you.
