I was born in Los Angeles, Ca. in 1952 and grew up in the South Bay (Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach) and in Scottsdale, Arizona, where I graduated from high school.

I attended college at El Camino in Torrance and Orange Coast in Costa Mesa. In 1972 I began working for a division of Occidental Petroleum covering 13 Western States in refining sales. During 1975 I married and moved from the beach to Fountain Valley. By 1980, I joined a smaller local firm and my wife and I moved to Brea. While in Brea, I was active in the Country Hills Homeowner's Association and served as President.

In 1983, drawn to Yorba Linda by the rural atmosphere we moved to a home on Lakeshore Lane right above the lake bed allowing us to board and ride horses. Though we were only a short distance from Imperial Highway and the 91 Freeway, it seemed like we were in the mountains.

My two children attended daycare at the old Nixon Elementary School. They also attended Linda Vista Elementary School and the Yorba Linda Middle School, where I was very active in the PTA. I was an assistant leader of my son's Cub Scout pack and was one of the few single fathers participating in the activities of my daughter's Girl Scout troop.

My son, Brian attended Esperanza High School. Christina, my daughter went to El Dorado where she was active in drama and was a member of the swim team. Brian is now a Computer Specialist and Christina is a junior at Cal State Fullerton majoring in Psychology.

In 1986 I started my own company, Prestige Metal Recyclers, Inc. in Yorba Linda. My company brokers the recovery of precious and non-precious metals from various types of scrap materials. In my professional life, I have served as President of one of our Trade Association (AESF).

After starting my business, I looked for an opportunity to give back to the community that had provided such a wonderful environment for my family. I joined the Chamber of Commerce and served on the Board of Directors in several capacities before being elected as President in 1994. After completing my term as President, I continued on the board for two more years as Past President. I was named "Member of the Year" for the Chamber as well as receiving commendations from the United States House of Representatives, the United States Senate, and the Orange County Board of Supervisors.

After my wife Carolyn and I were married in 1993, we joined Yorba Linda Presbyterian Church where we both sing in the choir and have served on the governing boards of the church. I was Moderator of the Deacons, and am currently a ruling Elder. Carolyn is now Treasurer of the church.

In serving the church, I co-chaired the Facilities Committee and served on the Building Committee, which recently completed a new 300-seat worship center. I currently am a member of the Evangelism Committee and serve on the Endowment Committee.

Carolyn, Christina and I live with our two Golden Retrievers (Summer and Rusty) across from Hurless Barton Park.
