3. Assuring significant parent, staff, and community involvement in the District and its decision-making process

4. Creating a disciplined, safe, and drug free school environment that is conducive to learning

5. Establishing full public accountability for School and District performance and operations

6. Assuring that the District provides high-quality programs at all levels from basic English and mathematics skills to advanced academic courses

MAJOR NEAR-TERM OBJECTIVES FOR THE DISTRICT:

• Achieving instructional excellence in all classrooms

• Effectively implementing and managing the planned expansion and modernization projects approved by the voters in the March bond election

• Dealing with the expected enrollment increases as schools approach their capacity

• Assuring sound, financial management of the District in the face of potentially reduced State funding and increasing State mandates

• Adequately meeting the academic and vocational needs of a student population with increased diversity, backgrounds, and educational training
