With the laws we have in place to protect taxpayers from increases in their taxes, the primary way cities can grow their revenue is with additional business activity within the city. For this reason, it is imperative that we do all we can to foster additional business investment within La Habra. With a strong business presence in La Habra we can be sure to maintain a good fire department, police department, and roads. I believe those should be the primary concerns of our city government.

Between federal, state, and local taxes and fees, our citizens pay a substantial part of their incomes to the government. As a councilmember, I will fight to protect our taxpayers from having to shoulder an even heavier tax burden.

Our city's image and economy is dependant upon our downtown. That is why I am anxious to see a beautiful downtown with thriving businesses. The grant the Department of Commerce has given La Habra should go a long way towards beautifying downtown. Whatever we end up doing with downtown we need to ensure we have good traffic flow. Without any freeway in La Habra it is critical for the surface streets to be in good order. If we severely restrict traffic on La Habra Blvd, the traffic on Whittier Blvd., Lambert Rd., and Imperial Hwy. would be overwhelming. I will work for a downtown with beauty and smooth flowing traffic.

Property rights are a part of America's history and greatness. Our government should never deprive someone of their property without due process or fair compensation. As a member of the city council I will always respect people's property rights.
