Candidate for
Board Member; Brea Olinda Unified School District

As a Police Officer for the past seven years, I have developed my career through community awareness by teaching the DARE program to children in local schools. Through these experiences, I have learned three things:

1. Children learn in an environment where they feel safe and secure.
2. Children need a learning environment that promotes creativity and responsibility.
3. Children need positive role models in their lives that promote independent thought, hard work and self-esteem.

These are the core needs of our children, and I promise to put them at the forefront of my tenure as a school board member. Additionally, with the rapid growth of our outlying hills and corridors, it is essential that the school board prepare for the expansion of our schools. We must locate these schools in safe, accessible neighborhoods, not along busy highways. These schools must be built with fiscal responsibility, so as to maintain the high standard of education of our students, whether in providing state-of-the-art learning tools and facilities or in retaining our excellent teaching staff.
