Board members hold final responsibility for the direction and options of the District.It is a great honor to be given a seat on the School Board. Additionally, there is a great deal of responsibility that comes with the honor being bestowed upon our Board. The responsibility of knowing that actions based on the recommendation of staff or special committees still falls on the Board, not the one who made the recommendations. I believe that it is a duty of the Board to accept recommendations but review the data that those recommendations were based on. I also believe it is a must that the Board not just wait to be given alternatives to important issues but they must find the alternatives themselves. I feel very strongly about these issues because I believe it is ultimately the School Board the must be held accountable for issues within the District. |
