Mayor; City of Westminster

It is with heartfelt gratitude that I thank you for your past loyalty and support. With your help, I began to make sweeping changes that are breathing new life into Westminster -- our All American City.

Under my leadership, City Council has brought millions of dollars of infrastructure money to Westminster, repaired more than 100 streets, attracted new business such as Macy's, and boosted existing business to increase sales tax revenue. I am proud that we accomplished these improvements without raising taxes, downsizing city staff or cutting public services.

I listened to your concerns and kept my promises to you by accomplishing the following goals:

• No new taxes and lowered utility tax
• Balanced city budget every year
• Tax dollars dedicated to public safety and infrastructure improvements
• Repaired more than 100 streets - $1 million dedicated for 2002
• Built two eight million gallon water tanks
• New play equipment in parks; first Skateboard park opened
• Increased services to senior citizens
• Initiated two new low-cost senior citizen housing projects
• Promoted Westminster business, attracted Wal-Mart and Macy's
• Spearheaded formation of Auto Dealers Association to increase sales tax revenue
• Developed plans to build a Community College in Civic Center

• No new taxes
• Support Police and Fire Safety services
• Build low cost housing
• Support and promote business
• Build a Community Cultural & Educational Center
• Bring a full service hospital to Westminster.
