Candidate for
Director; El Toro Water District; 2 Year Short Term

This information is provided by the candidate

My family moved to Orange County when I was an infant and then to Saddleback Valley in 1972. I grew up attending schools in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District from kindergarten through high school, graduating from El Toro High in 1985. I decided to take courses at Saddleback Community College, and I completed an AA in General Education in 1988.

To broaden my life experiences outside of this bedroom community, I chose to pursue a B.A. in Behavioral Science at San Jose State University, which at the time had over 35,000 students enrolled. I transferred from Saddleback to SJSU in 1989. My family continued to reside in Saddleback Valley while I attended SJSU and after I graduated. I returned to my "hometown" of Saddleback Valley to visit as often as possible, typically six or more times a year. After living in different areas in the greater Bay Area for a decade, I decided to return to Saddleback Valley as a permanent resident in 1999.

I believe this area offers the best in lifestyle and community, and I wanted to raise my family in the same great environment that I experienced growing up here. Throughout the years, I have seen the foothills become neighborhoods and the freeway become a civil engineering marvel. I feel very strongly that in order to preserve what we love, we need to be involved in protecting it.

I chose to run for the short-term director seat with the El Toro Water District because I believe I can make a difference in how the district operates, by emphasizing the importance of the community as we manage our community's resources.
