I am running for the School Board because while I feel our schools are good, they can be better. I am most concerned about how we will will we handle the upcoming challenges that will face our schools?

1. The state budget crisis and the effect on our funding.
2. The Nuevo Project (Tonner Hills) and the effect it will have on our schools.
3. Efficient use of bond funds
- We have the money, get it out there to build facilities and upgrade our classrooms!
4. Maximizing the amount of revenue the district receives from Sacramento.
- We can't miss opportunties for State matching funds!
5. Preparing our students for the state mandated high school exit exams and other state mandated tests.
- We need to make Brea a place for young parents to settle down and raise a family, and test scores are a measure of a school's performance.

My belief is that without a solid budget and insight into what shape our school's finances are in, we cannot make the decisions as to what programs to fund, what facilities to build etc. We need to have definitive plans that will guide our schools through all the challenges that will come our way. Brea needs a strong financially minded individual with a vested interest in our schools to help guide us through these challenges. That is why you need to make SCOTT KROG your #1 choice for School Board.
