Thomas "Hoagy" Holguin, has been a Trustee with the Anaheim Union High School Board since October 2000 and is planning to run for another term this November.

A true California native, Hoagy was born and spent the majority of his youth in the Los Angeles area before moving to Anaheim in 1982. Passionate about the community, Hoagy has been involved and affiliated with the Anaheim Police Officer Honorary Association; the "Make a Wish" Foundation; Honorary Life Member of the City of Hope; Paint Your Heart Out; Leadership Anaheim; Boy Scouts of America; Ambassador for Anaheim Chamber of Commerce; Southern California Special Olympics; and the Anaheim Host Lions Club.

In addition, Hoagy was selected as Commissioner for the Anaheim Redevelopment and Housing Commission; Executive Board Member for the Anaheim Boys & Girls Club; Community Development Block Grant Chairperson; and served on the Anaheim Union High School District Facility Improvement Task Force and Safety Committee.

A former owner of a children's preschool and currently the owner/operator of a successful contracting and construction firm, Hoagy enjoys cultural activities, and traveling to new places in his leisure time. He is also a certified Orange County Search & Rescue volunteer and a Community Emergency Response Team Board member.

Hoagy considers his greatest accomplishment to be the successful upbringing of three daughters, who reflect his values and desire for higher education. All three of his daughters are graduates of local Universities, and two are currently working on their Master's degrees.
