Campaign Statement

By Mitch Goldstone

Candidate for Council Member; City of Irvine

This information is provided by the candidate
Thanks for your interest in the campaign. As chair of the Irvine Community Services Commission, and local business owner I seek your vote on Nov 5th.
Irvine is America's most successful master-planned community, with beautiful villages, thousands of acres of open space, abundant greenbelts, safe streets, and excellent schools. As your Councilmember, protecting Irvine's quality of life is my highest priority. I'm committed to the following:

First, Creating The Great Park:

As Community Services Commission Chairman and Irvine business owner, I organized "Irvine Business Leaders for the Great Park." We had one goal: Defeat El Toro Airport and replace it with a magnificent park. Now I'm determined to create the Great Park - twice as big as San Diego's Balboa Park - without spending taxpayer dollars.

Second, Protecting Our Villages:

With Northern Sphere development looming before us, I will enforce Irvine's highest planning standards so all new development is fully compatible with existing villages. I am also a homeowner in the new area of Northwood, adjacent to Northwood High School.

Third, Strengthening Public Safety:

As an Irvine Community Police Academy graduate, I know the importance of sound public safety policy, and I'll make sure Irvine's police stay a top funding priority.

During times of economic uncertainty, public dollars become scarce. I'll make sure the City invests your taxes wisely, enhancing youth and senior programs and the quality of life we all appreciate.

On Election Day, please give me one of your two City Council votes.

With great appreciation,

Mitch
