Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Mike L. Garcia

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Santa Ana; Ward 6

This information is provided by the candidate

I want to keep our city's positive momentum going.

My wife and I are homeowners, have roots in Santa Ana and want to make this the best place to live and raise a family.

I want to contribute my 10 years of government experience to the Council. I am a former City employee and currently work with cities on planning, real estate, economic development, housing and redevelopment issues. I hold a Masters in Public Administration from CSU Fullerton and Bachelors from UCI.

As your Councilmember, I will work with neighborhood and community leaders on public safety, redevelopment, and education.

Public safety. Our police and firefighters deserve our continued support. After years of declining rates, crime is slowly on the rise. We must take a zero tolerance approach on crime.

Redevelopment. As the county's oldest city, we must invest in our streets, neighborhood shopping centers, and existing redevelopment areas.

Education. We must work with the Santa Ana, Garden Grove, Orange and Tustin Unified School Districts to raise standards, coordinate after-school programs and put "Education First."

My experience and platform have earned me the endorsement of many elected officials and community leaders. I ask for your vote and welcome your ideas at 714-309-1104 or http://www.mikegarciaforcouncil.com.
