Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Jan Debay

Candidate for
Board Member; Orange County Water District; Division 7

This information is provided by the candidate

My involvement in elected office began as a community volunteer. I was appointed to the Planning Commission and progressed on to election to City Council and County appointments, as well as Special District responsibilities.

My political philosophy can be summed up in the words, public service. I have no higher agenda, nor do I want to be a career politician. I strive to do the right thing for the right reasons, and that is for the public benefit and welfare of the residents I represent.

The water supply will be high on the list of priorities for immediate attention. Just as we suffered and worried through the electric shortage, we will be dealing with high demand for water during our driest years and rapidly increasing population with less water supplied from the Colorado River and Northern California.

My philosophy is a practical and bottom line approach to find solutions necessary to ensure we have high quality water when we need it at a reasonable cost.
